Introduction to counterpoint
- Counterpoint can be defined as when one note is against another note in cantus firmus
- Cantus firmus is a line that cannot be changed
- A melodic Line that moves step by step is conjunct
- A meodic line that moves leap by leap is disjunct
- Counterpoints can move in motions :parallel,similar,contrary,oblique
- Some Rules of Counterpoint are as follows:
- no repeated notes
- No Arpeggios
- No accidentals in a major scales
